Moggs Motel Cd Review
And what a great album this.
With his distinctive voice he presents Moggs Hotel which he composed with Tony Newton (bass and keyboards) from the band Voodoo Six, who had been touring partners with UFO previously, and long time associate Neil Carter (guitar, keyboards and vocals).
The album was recorded at Iron Maiden's Steve Harris's studio in Essex UK and the band was completed by Joe Lazarus (drums ) and Tommy Gentry (guitar).
Hopefully readers will be familiar with the first 2 tracks that were released the first being Apple Pie that you can see in the Youtube clip below.
Sunny Side Of Heaven was also released to streaming platforms in August too.
They both certainly se the scene for this triumphant return. Throughout the album the lyrics mix autobiographical elements with fictional ones with his typical sense of humour as he tells his stories with his usual unerring powers of observation and disarming play on words.
I don't think there is a weak track on the album and even the short Instrumental Harry's Place with retro spy thriller brought a smile to my face .
It would be lovely to hear all the tracks on a UK tour please.
Moggs Motel was released on September 6 and is available on Steamhammer /SPV on cd vinyl and digital download.
