Saxon - Heavy Metal Thunder Live - Eagles Over Wacken

Here at Rockgig.co.uk we are in the very fortunate position to be able to review two versions of the recently released live offering from the mighty Saxon.
Heavy Metal Thunder Live - Eagles Over Wacken has been released in a number of formats including a limited edition box set that has already sold out, a 3x vinyl LP gatefold, down loads and the two version we will be reviewing - 2 CD WOA 2009 Fan's choice setlist full show and DVD Best of WOA 2004,07,09 with bonus double CD recorded live at Glasgow on Call to Arms world tour on 14 April  2011.

A quick play of some of the tracks proves that they have captured the great live sound of the band.

I'm off now to listen/watch the CDs and DVD and will post the full reviews in the next week or so. 

Don't forget that Saxon are appearing at the Download festival on 9 June 2012 and at Hammersmith Apollo, as guests of Judas Priest, on 26 May 2012. Rockgig.co.uk will be posting a review of the Hammersmith show.
