Blackburner - Planet Earth Attack

Industrial rock/metal/dubstep crossover masterminds BLACKBURNER released their second album PLANET EARTH ATTACK on September 25 via Cleopatra/Hypnotic Records.
It features a guest appearance from legendary Star Trek actor WILLIAM SHATNER on the
opening track, Planet Earth Attack and also guest appearances by Billy Sherwood and Chris Squire of prog rock back YES on the electronic dubstep-influenced remix of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" and industrial-inspired “Burn Burn Burn!,”

The 17-track collection is certainly a journey from depths to heights and back with beats that physically resonate and take the listener in a number of musical directions.
The highlights for me are the three tracks already mentioned and the the dance inspired I’m in love with the City featuring Bulgarian born composer, musician and singer Geri X and NightAir which features Lady Starlite best known for her numerous collaborations with Lady Gaga
Too Close features the absolutely fantastic soulful voice of Dominique Karan, and is in total contrast to the collaboration with Jessica Jean on the equally great Apocalypse.
This collection was well outside my normal comfort zone, but throughout the songs are well produced and though it would be fair to say not all of it is to my taste there are some real nuggets of gold on the CD.
