Lynyrd Skynyrd Hammersmith Odeon 23-04-15

First up were Leogun who I had seen support Extreme last year and they continue to flourish with a second album due this year from which they played Magic Potion.
A heady mix of blues soul and heavy rock their 30 minute set was greeted by the mass crowd very enthusiastically and grew as the set wore on.

Led by the throaty roar and guitar histrionics of Tommy Smith who is the main focus of attention here is what they played.

Leaving to the title track of their debut cd the lengthy workout left the crowd wanting more as all good support slots do.

This review was going to be done by NR but as this was a landmark birthday(50th) for him, he had a fair few glasses of Cider, Merlot, and JD Honey (not in the same glass) beforehand,( along with a superb meal at Covent Garden and a chocolate bombe to die for) and simply smiled and sang his 50 year old face off during the whole gig. He also has had a man crush on Rickey Medlocke since the first Blackfoot album came out - so I'll let him off this time. Yee haw.. Hell yeah Etc.

I will just add that with a packed crowd and a setlist of purely old classics this show blew away the last time I saw them at the NIA in 2009 and for that I was thankful.
