A special 2 day only event saw fans from across the world attend London for Alter Bridge playing with the 52 piece Parallax Orchestra conducted by Simon Dobson.

Their set was full of fan favourites and one song never played live before and begged for by fans for many a day.

Here is what they played over the course of 2 and a half hours with a 30 minute intermission.

Slip Into The Void
Addicted To Pain
Before Tomorrow Comes
The Writing On The Wall
Cry Of Achilles
In Loving Memory (first time since 2008)
Fortress

Intermission

Ties That Bind
The Other Side
Brand New Start
Ghosts Of Days Gone By
The Last Hero
The End Is Here
Words Darker Than Their Wings (live debut)
Waters Rising
Lover
Wonderful Life (acoustic)
Watch Over You (acoustic)
This Side Of Fate
Broken Wings
Blackbird
Open Your Eyes

To begin with the sound was very poor.A struggle to hear anything clearly although with plenty of cameras around I'm sure when it is released on dvd/blu ray it will sound perfect. In fact it was probably the last song before the intermission when the orchestra became audible and Fortress was taken to a new place with sweeps of orchestration adding to the grandiose occasion.

Ghosts Of Days Gone By was another to feel the benefit of the orchestra with the chorus sung very loudly by the audience and The Last Hero had Myles Kennedy in excellent voice.

Myles took centre stage with 2 acoustic numbers with just him and the orchestra with the crowd in full voice as their voices combined to soar to the huge domed roof.

For me it all came together in an eargasm with my favourite song Blackbird which had crystal clear sound and built from quiet beginnings and ebbed and flowed before the huge guitar riff kicked in and the orchestra were mesmeric as Myles and Mark Tremonti traded guitar solo's.Wonderful and Mark's smile that was permanently on full got even wider.
Open Your Eyes ended an evening that many fans will never forget and we await the dvd/blu ray release in the not too distant future.
